Due to several factors, two being a flare up with my diabetes and a natural thinning of the skin due to age, and under the advisement of my doctor and dermatologist, my wet shaves for the next 30-days will look like this.

Prep: Wash with warm water and conditioning liquid soap
Brush: Edwin Jagger Synthetic
Soap: W.S.O. Bill the Barber or White Lightning
Razor: Norelco Wet/Dry SensoTouch 3D
Post: Fine American Blend & Medicated Balm

No, this shaves nowhere near as close as a blade, but it does not remove layers of skin in the process, which is what we are trying to eliminate for a while. My hope is that this is the occasional and not the norm, but time will tell.

I just wanted to post this here to get it out in the open as my SOTD pictures are fixing to take a drastic change from the norm.

Johnny,

First off I hope this setup helps you out. Having been an electric shaver most my life I think this SOTD looks fantastic! I am tempted to give it a try myself.

Happy Shaving, whatever form it is!

I wish you the best, too, Johnny. And you're still in the "club," and always will be, regardless of your equipment.

Johnny, follow doctor's orders and then give us the highs and lows of this kind of shave. Your health comes first and, besides, your experiences will help expand the body of knowledge here at The Shave Nook.

Johnny,

I have the same symptoms as you as well as getting temporary bright red bruises at the slightest bump.

I use a Rolls Razor. It has not caused me any exceptional problems.
It is either my tougher hide or the razor. I know not which.

Best wishes,
Mickey

As we get older it's a fact that our skin changes in many ways. It gets thinner and it develops some annoying nooks and crannies which are next to impossible to deal with. I'm going through this now having to be very careful when shaving because of them. I guess it's all in the game. You have to adjust and do the best you can getting advice from this wonderful group of caring folks along the way.

As long as you can enjoy your shaves Johnny, that's all that counts ! Just keep it plugged in safely away from the water please. I kinda like seeing what you are up to and want to enjoy having you around for many more years !
