Finally received my Maggard Razors Artisan soap, Limes and Bergamot Thanks goes out to The Maggards!
First the Smell: fabulous just the best refreshing lime and bergamot scent period!! (This soap compliments the Lime and Bergamot A/S I personally made perfectly!!) the scent lingers nicely a little after the shave
Second the lather: The soap is more of a croap and loads very easy (franks shaving silvertip) this soap will fool you, I first found it to be lacking in the lather department (immediately was saddened cause the smell was outrageous) the lather was thin at first, then I gave it what it needs a little more water and some more whipping WOA!! the lather turned from thin to cake batter like bliss...
Third the shave, skin care and cleanliness: the shave with soap was a 2 pass dfs 4 days of growth, Ikon Deluxe OC, the way my skin felt was and is great not dry and needing anything which surprised me no tingle at all from soap and after all was said and done the soap rinsed cleanly off my face and equipment!
I love the soap and hope the Maggards keep it around!!

I used the Limes & Bergamot again today. I concur with you across the board. Great scent, great lather, great shave.

I have a lot of shaving soaps. The Maggard Limes & Bergamot is fast becoming one of my top 5 soaps. I had a great shave today using it with my Gillette NEW Short Comb. I have been using it in my rotation for a month now and like it more each time I pull it out. Great lather, great scent!!

Good news! Maggard has just added two more scents: Fougère Sauvage and Mango Sage. I just ordered the FS along with a sample of Fine American Blend AS.

Quote:Fougère Sauvage is fragranced with 100% essential oils. A clean woodsy scent – fern, balsam tolu, and clary sage for its musky, bitter floral notes. Fougère Sauvage is both complex and refined and we are very excited to introduce it to the market. We think we’ve got a big hit with this one!
Quote:Mango Sage Tea is fragranced with a blend of fragrance oils that smells absolutely wonderful. A fruity, sweet, fresh scent with some complex undertones that can be enjoyed by women and men alike.

I received my Fougere Sauvage yesterday and shaved with it today. As expected, it produced more than enough great thick, cushioning lather for a 3+ pass shave after loading my brush for about 15 seconds. The scent is nice, but much more subdued than the Limes & Bergamot. These are great soaps!
