Typically when I place an order with a company and they include a "comments & questions" section in the checkout process I will ask for something odd to be drawn on or included with the package. 90% of the time this includes a penguin.

In the past I have received some halfhearted efforts:

And some decent time consuming endeavors:

I received an email after my order was placed from Larry saying, "Grant-

Thanks for stopping by Whipped Dog! Man, you are challenging my artistic abilities here Smile I'll do my best with the drawing, but don't get mad if it looks like a blob with 3 eyes!"

No one had actually DRAWN anything before. I have roughly 10 cutouts of boxes with silly pictures involving penguins but, as of yet, no one had whipped out a pen or pencil.

Until today...

Thank you for the straight razor and strop, Larry! The picture is the best blob with 3 eyes that I have ever received Smile

I can only wish that I could draw a "three eye blob" like that.
Larry is a talented man indeed.

Just got in my new Whipped Dog Silvertip from BST and as the hair is so thin and soft, a rare treat was searching the forum

Awesome drawing!

Larry's a good ol boy from Texas!  One of the few out there that is more about helping others enjoy and share his passion over making a dollar.  Great Man, I only have good things to say about him.

I'm sure I'll get pegged as a negative Nancy, but I just wanted to show it from the other side. Those half hearted attempts were still time spent on something completely unrelated to the business being handled. We are people after all, not just dancing monkeys. If a random penguin drawing was offered, I'd look at it different I guess. But being that it was asked for, it seems like a way for you to say you feel your money is worth more than the product being received. As though a vendor owes you a personal touch that has nothing to do with his business. Larry is definitely a nice guy and will likely gain some business from this little endeavor, but I wonder how many other people make requests like this only to satiate their own desires and never say anything at all?
