I put this together a few months ago and keep it in my travel bag. I haven't had to use it yet because when I visit my friends in Buffalo or Scotland, I keep a cheap school fountain pen at their homes and just bring along an ink cartridge. However, I sure wish I had this set-up when I went to Barcelona, Spain on my own in September. It weighs next to nothing and has all that I might need.

1) shows the case zipped up and ready to go. At only about 7½ x 3¼ inches (19.05 x 8.26 cm) it's easy to carry in luggage, backpack, handbag, or messenger bag.

2) shows the case open and with the contents stored. The Mini-scissors are zipped into the front of the case.

3) The contents of the travel case, from left to right: pen-like collapsible scissors with cover, pen-like portable stapler, eraser, mechanical pencil, mini-ruler (6 x ¾ inches or 15.24 x 1.91 cm), school fountain pen, school rollerball (both of which use standard international ink cartridges), five standard international ink cartridges in various colors. Above those is the mini-scissors

4) Mini scissors, closed. At only 1½ x ½ inches (3.81 x 1.27 cm) these go anywhere but have only limited use. If you've ever purchased a shirt or blouse and wanted to cut off that maddening tag that is invariably put through the label and you're not home then this mini-scissors is ideal.

5) Mini scissors, open. Just a push on the slide opens or locks the scissors.

Really cool set up. Especially both pairs of scissors.

I take it this only goes into checked baggage.

Actually, no Phil. Although I didn't use it on my trip to Buffalo last month I did have it with me and I had carry-on luggage, only. One was a shoulder bag that went under the seat and the other was a rolling 22-inch suitcase that went in the rack above the seats. The roll-on is where I kept the travel pen case so it went through the x-ray machine at security in San Diego, Newark, and Buffalo and I never had a problem.

Thanks, guys. Derbian, I purchased the case from JetPens: http://www.jetpens.com/Nomadic-PE-06-Sid...ck/pd/5906. JetPens has a lot of different travel cases to chose from: http://www.jetpens.com/Pencil-Cases-Bags/ct/159. I hope this helps.

Once again, I must iterate that I have no interest in any pen company I mention here, including JetPens, except for being a satisfied customer.

A Nomadic! They make great cases. You can also check out a new outfit called Nock cases. A pen geek and a nylon wizard teamed up to offer some interesting designs. If it matters, they're all made in the USA.

Karlo, some of those Nock cases are really nice. For now, my little Nomadic does all that I want. I even like the black exterior with the bright orange interior. Biggrin

SWMBO gave me my Nock and it really was a good piece of kit. She also gave me my Nomadic, Dr. ION and a bunch of other pen cases.
