I am pleased to introduce the Cold River Soap Works Classic line of Goat Milk Tallow based soaps! These new shaving soaps are made with Avocado Oil and Shea Butter for extra conditioning and a non drying gentle shave.

The Classic as of this posting is available in two scents;

Savon Fragrance No.1 which is a complex blend of Lavender, Rosemary and Cedar Wood perfume grade essential oils that bring herbaceous base notes highlighted by fresh, spicey florals.

Savon Fragrance No.2 is a blend of Rosemary, Litsea Cubeba and Sweet Peppermint perfume grade essential oils. This perfectly realized blend exhibits a smooth, woodsy overtone with middle notes of minty herbs and light citrus top notes.

The new Classic line is available in a screw top container for $11 or as a refill for $9. Don't forget to include coupon code: SHAVENOOK1 for 10% off your entire order!

Please visit http://www.coldriversoapworks.com to place your order.

Ravi, have you developed a preference as yet in terms of the Original (vegan) versus the Classic (tallow)?

All 4 scents are pleasant. My current rankings, purely subjective and personal, are :
1. No.1
2. American Barber Shop
3. Bergamot & Bay
4. No. 2

Classic : tallow
- comes as a firmer croap puck, individually wrapped
- takes a little more water and time to build lather, but still easy to lather overall
- creamier lather
- maybe a tad more moisturizing
- to me, this one is comparable to Mike's, Mystic Water, etc. in terms of performance

Original : vegan
- comes in tub only; the soap is 'final-cured' in the tubs as I understand ... more labor intensive, and hence the price differential
- extremely easy to lather, and takes little water and virtually no time to build up
- very nice cushion and slickness
- to me, this one is comparable to LPL, JabonMan, Wickham in terms of performance

I'm struggling to decide between the two, in terms of which would be my favored choice. I'm leaning towards Original, because my facial skin tends to be oily ... the Original is slightly crisper and a little less moisturizing in feel, ie less 'waxy' face feel postshave but this is a very subtle difference noted. It's by no means drying.
Classic is no slouch, and has a rich and creamy feel overall ... very nice, too.

His matching balms are very nice, too ... as are the preshave oils if you're into this.

Even though I have only used it twice, so far, I really think this is one of the best soaps I have used.
Great work, Larry! Smile

Without a doubt, possibly the overall best soap I have ever used. Luxurious, easy lather, great glide and protection.
Wonderful "face feel" afterwards. Great products from Larry!

I can't see how you've listed Bergmont & Bay third. This scent is intoxicating. Same with Savon #2 (the lemon-mint scent).

What scents have you tried, and Classic or Original, Celestino?
