I just clicked on the Simply Shaving Site and see that it is closed down. I guess it was closing sooner than I anticipated. It is a shame as I really liked the site and wished that we could have updated the software. It is a shame that we have no way of letting the former members of Simply Shaving know about the new site.

If I would have known I would have used the mass email function so people who were not logged in today could still get the notice.

Thanks. I did just put a banner up and have a link in my email signature. Still though....not the most direct communication method.

Phil,

When attempting to reach the Simply Shaving site you are greeted with the Information page that states:

"Sorry, but this board is currently unavailable. Please try again later. If you are the administrator of this board you need to enable the board in the administration panel under configure"

Is it possible for the administrator to go back and add a link to the Nook? Just a thought.

It would be possible but not likely to happen. Unfortunately, the password to the administrator panel has been changed. :-o

That was a friendly and comfortable forum, and I liked it a lot. I hope the folks who used to go there find their way here. Would it be politically acceptable to post a notice in a thread on the SMF site?

The traditional wet shaving world is a small one and I'm sure that the news of this new forum will spread like a prarie fire in no time at all.

I just sent an e-mail to all the people that were on the traveling swap box list.

Do you have any archives of any of the posts from threads? The Wayback machine didn't have the forum archived....

Unfortunately I do not have any archives. This new site fortunately has automatic file backups so going forward we will be good. I am glad that you were able to email the members o the traveling box. Hopefully they join here.

SS went down so I didn't see any announcements. We'll all drop in as word spreads and messages are sent.

Me and Teiste already spread the news on the Iberian forums. Some Spanish, Portuguese and Brazilian members already jumped in. h(

Yes, I have tweeted. Hopefully Slap, the official SS Tweeter, tweets the location of the new forum as well. bn
