Has anyone recently purchased PPF? I wanted to know if they fixed the issues with it causing irritation and if it still performs the same. My Ciderhouse5 is great when I can handle the pain but it's mostly used to break in brushes because of the strong scent. I'd really like to get more so I can shave with it.

I had the same problem. The lather was amazing but burned my skin like h***. I think he uses fragrance oil which irritates the skin a lot more than essential oil does.

I got a puck of the Black Tea from Italian Barber roughly 6 weeks ago. I don't get any irritation from them, but this is the first soap I've tried from them so I have nothing to compare it to. Still plenty of strength on the scent though.

I tried the Sandalwood early this year and had no issues, but that may have not have been the newer stock.
Best of luck to you!

Was the Neroli an old batch or did you buy it recently? That was one of the PPFs I had in my cart.

If it helps, the neroli was the one which burned my skin as well. I got mine back in Nov but then sold it off.

My Ciderhouse5 gave me a great shave but it burned my skin and I ended up PIF'ing it.

What did they do to fix the issue?

I had PPF Briar soap early 2014 and although it didn't burn my skin I was getting red rash marks on my neck post shave. They would go away in a five minutes and wasn't painful but I stopped using it.

Seems like everyone buying them now have no problems. I got the new Pink Moustache special and will report back after I've tried it. Maybe something to be weary of on the BST though.

I have fairly sensitive skin and haven't had any problems with either coconut or neroli that I purchased in early March.

Hi Dave,
I have PPF CiderHouse 5, but never used. Because the problems you had, i might shave with it tomorrow to see what happens.

Best,
