Yes Walmart is now selling Van Der Hagen double edge razors, blades, premium badger brush, premium soaps the whole nine yards. The razors look like re-branded Weishis'
Regarding the blades they say ice-tempered Teflon coated stainless steel. Made in Germany and a bit on the expensive side at $2.88 for 5 in a dispenser.

$2.88 per five? Cheap! Compared to the $10.79 per ten that CVS had the other day.

I will pass on both, thank you.

[EDIT] the blades at CVS were not VDH blades.

I used a VDH blade this morning for the first time in my Joris. Very smooth and sharp. It remains to be seen how long the blade will last but if I can get at least four days out of them I will consider it good.

Day 2 similar to yesterday smooth and very sharp. Great back up blades and worth having around.

Probably made by Feintechnik, the makers of Croma Diamant, Bolzano, Elios, german Wilkinsons, Lamix, and other good blades.

They are most probably rebranded Croma Diamants, those are teflon-coated too... and they rebrand those for other distribution chains in Europe.

I live in Appleton WI and work in Green Bay. So far the Walmarts here haven't seen fit to stock these.

Target is carrying the same items now as well. The odd thing is they sell the VDH razor, boar brush, badger brush and luxury soap but no DE blades other than the tuck that comes with the razor.

if they are made by the facitility that makes german Wilkinson, then I have a feeling they had an issue this year with keeping each product line separated. Explains why Wilkinson sword german went so bad on me.

A lot of places charge a dollar a blade for them. the feel, the shave itself, is like someone simply bought all the reject blades and packaged them up for sales. It also feels like your trying to make a skingraft from your own face..

If I see a pack of these I would try one for that price.
I've yet to try any "ice tempered" blades.

I got a tuck of the Croma Diamonts and I liked them a lot and that surprised me since the only other German blade I tried was a Wilkinson and they were bad.

First shave was the weishi they came with. Got new fiffetrent brand of blades for the next shave. Sharp but not for beginners.

Some folks say the vdh is merkur blades in a new package.
