I had routine teeth cleaning today, and everything checked out OK. I have Medicare and an Advantage plan for medical coverage, but since I have no dental insurance, I paid cash for the dental work. However, I can't count on my good luck continuing forever. Can anyone recommend (or recommend against) any particular individual dental insurance plans?

Mine is a carry over from my plan with Shell Oil and it is with Delta Dental. I've always had good luck with it.

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield and I like it. Especially if the dentist is contracted with BCBS because they know how much they will pay so they don't try and charge more and it costs me less in the long run...

Whatever you choose, make sure you talk to your dentist first (or even talk to your dentist first to get some suggestions). Unless of course you don't mind switching dentists...

Good Luck...

I've had Delta Dental for over 30 years and it has served me well. Of course, I can't compare it to any other as it is the only dental insurance I have had. I had it at work and I elected to continue with it at my own expense upon retirement.
