After having horrible shedding issues with a brush of mine and then the same issues with the replacement knot, I decided to pull it out and toss in a 28mm TGN 2 band finest. A local friend actually already had the knot and I like this knot in another brush I have already. Plus they're a great value - so why not. It's funny, this handle has had a minimum of 4 knots in it now. Hopefully now I can open up my soaps without seeing a bunch of hairs embedded in the surface of them. Biggrin I'll leave it alone for a day or two until it sets, get rid of any lose hairs and post a picture of it post bloom.

Interesting. I, for one would like more details of the replacement process.

Thanks, it's nice to make use of the great handle, the heavy shedding made me not even want to ever pick up the brush before.

It's simple. I've done it twice with this handle now by following these two videos:

Didn't work out well. I did a palm lather and it was very soft but I actually used it for the first time today and the knot is VERY different than the other knot that it was supposed to replicate. I'm pretty disappointed. It splays so bad I can pretty much touch the handle to my face through the knot when face lathering, and it's a 2 band...

This promiscuous handle might get yet another knot. I'm thinking something special from WSP or maybe shavemac to play it safe. I really like the handle and want to make a good brush out of it. Its unfortunate because I really liked the knot in it before this one but it just shed so bad.

Well, you better get a Shavemac D-01 2-Band, then and set it at 50mm or less! Biggrin
