Hey Guys. This brush was a thrift shop find. Its a Simpson W1 in Pure. It has seen some use ( the centre is damaged) but the hair is surprisingly soft. Does anyone know what the W stands for? Any info would be appreciated. [Image: QREg1UP.jpg]

This may be a good candidate for a re-knot.
Thanks for looking.

Great handle, James. It sort of looks like someone took a P8 and stretched he bottom segment.

I've seen a W2 and a W3L before, both butterscotch handled and both in Best Badger. I think the W series may have been prototypes for the Commodores.

Is Mark still doing re-knots, even if he's not doing customs?

I doubt Mark could resist bringing this one back to life!

Send him a PM here or better yet an email.

The old pure bager was nothing like Simpsons "Pure" today. It was softer and more luxuriant.

What grade will you re-knot it with, do you think?

It' a perfectly beautiful handle, I must say. Very nice. Scultptural.
