I'm out of town, but my wife's been busy! She found, and bought this for me today. I've been wanting something like this for a while. It's just under 4 feet tall and has a cool story too. Turns out the wood structure is about 100 years old and was built and used by the lady's great grandfather for his shaving stuff. The lady was very excited to see it go when my wife told her that's what I was using it for. The glass and handle have been replaced, but the "heart and soul" is still there!

So far, this is the only pics I've seen. It's a birthday present for my birthday next week.

That's excellent, but wait. Do you mean to tell me there were shave geeks a century ago, too?

It's been a while since I've updated this thread. I figured I'd snap a few pics as the shelf sits now. I had to do a little repair to the door, nothing major, the glass was loose. I also had to adjust the clasp that keeps it closed.

It turns out that this was made to house a shaving mug collection. So the initial use reported to me was close. At least me wife heard "shave"! Biggrin

I really love this thing though. It's turned out to be a wonderful addition to the nook!

Sorry for the iPhone pics, I just wanted to snap a few to show off.
