It was hot and muggy here (relatively), but I wanted to go out for a walk so I took a short 11 mile hike through the AT around here. It was nice and quiet - I only saw a half-dozen people. The mosquitoes and flies were out in force, which was not fun, but otherwise it was a nice day for a hike.

The largest wild animals I saw were chipmunks. Strangely, I saw no squirrels.

The AT is marked with these while blazes, 2,200 miles from Maine to Georgia. You don't want to miss them.

This is the closest AT Hut to where I live.

There were a few critters in the undergrowth.

I also like the ferns and mushrooms.

Yep, I'm constantly amazed at how beautiful it is here. Of course, there's natural beauty everywhere in this country, you just have to look for it. In some places, it's easy to access.

The hike was great fun, Celestino. It really is pleasant to just go out into the woods and enjoy being away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Nicely done, Yohann.

The AT is just west of us here in PA ... I'm now compelled to go out there soon!
