Hi gents,

After reading so much about Xpec cream, and having some consider it one of the best shaving creams ever, I'd like to buy a tub and try for myself.

If you're not willing to sell the entire tub, I'd still very much appreciate buying a sample from you, just so that I can assert how good it is... maybe this will be the cream to make me believe the best creams can actually rival with the best soaps. Rolleyes

Just so everyone knows what I'm talking about, this is the one:

Cheers and thanks in advance.

Hi there,

For the last 4-5 years my rotation had almost all soaps. That would be things like DR Harris, MWF,IK, C&S, and some great vintage items....all have been used regularly at some time. Only creams in the mix are Pens and J Peterman, neither of which being used much. They perform almost as good as some of the better soaps, but not quite. Wonderful scent though and excellent for creams. The CF cream's excellent too, but the scents on those aren't for me.

The Xpec is as good as a top soap. I have been abusing the hell outta that stuff for a while now and it's a major player in the rotation. It's as slick a cream as I have tried. That's usually a weak spot, but not here. Cushion's right on the money. Lathers up like a rabid St Bernard. The scent is......well if you like the C&S #88 you will love the Xpec. Post shave skin care is very good.

Because of the way and how fast it went extinct, not many people were able to put away some. The unscented version lasted the longest, but even that's very tough to find now. I actually have some of that and it's as good as the scented one, performance wise. I keep thinking about using it for a superlather but haven't so far. Added some Creed to small bit of it, although the scent barely comes through.

I am happy to send you something to test drive. Use the pm feature for your mailing info.

This stuff will impress you,

Martin

Martin was generous enough to offer me a sample of XPEC... Looking forward to trying it.

Thanks again, Martin!

Just tried the Original cream a couple of times - thanks again, Martin - and it's definitely a very good performer, and so I'd like to buy a tub.

If you're willing to sell yours, shoot me a PM!

I know the reformulation should be released around next month, but I'm still interested in purchasing a tub of the Original, if you're willing to part with it.

What's up David,

I'm not a seller but maybe if you had something for 'bait', that might help. Anything you're willing to trade in the arsenal?

If I might just share what I think we ended up agreeing on, which is maybe using a straight needs even better lather than a DE and I might be missing another level of sorts. For me, the Xpec works great for DE and injector shaves, being the only things I use.

Martin, unfortunately I don't have anything specific in mind to trade, so I'd really just rather pay for it. Biggrin

In regards to performance, I agree with you... To me, XPEC's drawback is the glide, which is good but not great.

I've received a very generous sample from a friend, which should hold me until the new version comes out. Mods, thank you and please close!
