There's plenty of testimony here that Phil frequently walks on water.

Phil - You should make a feature request on their feedback page. They may not have this feature in their software because not enough people have asked for it yet.

Good luck.

Technology is funny at times.  I'm a former Army Airborne/Combat Engineer and I have kept in great shape since I got out in 1992.   I am a low tech guy, I like to be in control, and have never been fond of gadgets that try to tell me how I should live a healthy living.

Having said, there are so many out there, I would be running in circles to find the right one.  Believe or not, when I go hiking I still use a good ol' compass and a map Wink

It is sure heaven for techies.

Good idea. The strange thing is that there is a paddling option on the iPhone app but no way to select it on the watch.

Just a follow-up on the Garmin Vivoactive. I went to charge the watch the other day and the charger is already burned out. The cradle is a magnet and the USB connector came in contact with the magnet. I am not sure if this is what fried the charger but, I am a bit annoyed.

I've tried the fitbit, UP24 and Misfit.  I don't wear any of them anymore, for a variety of reasons.

Fitbit - worked well, but moisture got caused a rash on my wrist for some reason.  I sold it.
Mistfit - I had the shine and loved the simplicity, but it popped out of its band somewhere and I lost it.  I then tried the cheaper plastic one using a gift card and I lost that one, too.
UP24 - it just stops working for no reason every few months, I have had them send me three replacements, all with the same fatal flaw.  The app is the best one of the bunch, though.

I now just rely on my phone instead as I usually have it on me.

Activity trackers and smart watches sure have gotten better in the past 5 years. My old Garmin Vivoactive finally bit the dust so, I picked up the Vivoactive 3. Night and Day difference.

I have a Garmin 735 and use it for all my activities and pair it with a chest strap heart rate monitor. For the price I'm very happy with it. All in, whatever a person uses to stay active is worth every penny in my opinion.

Definitely. One reason that I like Version 3 of the Vivoactive is that it is much easier to use than the older version and, it has a heart rate monitor.

The BBC wrote a comparative article on fitness trackers accuracy.  Interesting how the distance accuracy varies widely between the different devices.

Software manufacturers are often chided for functions working differently than expected, don't we call them features? Anyway, Phil your calorie count was 274,000. This is the feature, like in financial statements, 000 omitted.

Haha... could be. I am happy to report that the new watch has SUP as an activity option. Now, I just need to dust my paddleboard off and hit the water.
