I just finished using a Blue Bird blade. Wow...for me this dude is going to be an addition to my rotation. It was sharp, smooth and compfy. I ordered two blades from http://www.tryablade.com along with many others blades. Have any of you used this blade? What is your opinion?

I have a couple of these in a sample pack I received the other day. Now I can't wait to get home and give them a try!

I need to try Blue Birds, I have a pack or two tucked away somewhere. I do recall that some folks stated that these were really Derby blades, repackaged.

Good to know Aaron, now I'm motivated to find them.

Yeah, I heard that too. I also read that they are an upgrade to the derby in some shape or form. I have tried the Derbys before and the Blue Bird IMO are far better.

I'll need to do a little more research on this.

Blue Birds have been in my inventory for several years. One of my favorite blades.

Had a couple in a sampler. I really liked them. What others say about the Derby blades I found true with Blue Birds. Smooth, sharp, comfortable. Enjoy!

After my earlier post on August 2nd, I shaved with Blue Birds all week. These blades indeed, are the Blue Bird of happiness. Biggrin

I started off loading a new BB blade into a Cadet open comb razor. It was a tad rough, but provided a knick/weeper free bbs shave.

I then moved that blade to a Weber PH bulldog razor and it was a match made in heaven. Perhaps this particular blade was one that was rough on it's first use, but the second and third shave were equally effective and very smooth.

I could feel that by the third shave, the blade was probably coming to it's end. So I thought that I would start the next Blue Bird blade in the Weber. This blade did not repeat the roughness of the the previous blade in the Cadet OC, but was smooth and sharp right out of the box. The second and third shaves were equally good.

Overall, the Blue Bird is a very good blade. At some point during these mini, one-week blade tests when the blade provides such a good shave experience, I think to myself, that if this was the only blade left on the planet, I would still enjoy wet shaving.

I'm out of Blue Birds right now. I've been whittling down an assortment of blades that I have never tried. I plan to make an order soon.

My impression of the Derby's is that it was good for those who like milder shaves as they are not scary sharp and are quite smooth to allow for multiple passes. Would this be the case for the Bluebird as well? Note that I'm a fan of milder razors.

Give the BB's a try. Each blade is different for everyone. My experience with them has been very positive.
