Gents,
Current owner of ATT with kronos and H1 plate. When I first saw 2gen slant I wanted to get it. just recieved my 2geb slant with SE handle.

First impression:
The shave is smooth, so smooth that I wanted not to stop shaving for fun . The blade cut two days of heavy growth like warm knife cut through butter and smooth . I got BBS shave in two passes.
I like new SE handle , very nicely build and hold nicely. See the picture next to kronos handle.

As far as ATT , I still love my H1 plate but I found slant tiny bit smoother. As far as shave quality I like both. I am happy to have slant as part of my rotation.

Very happy to hear you really like the 2nd Gen Slant. I should have mine as early as today. Quality and how it shaves is the name of the game.

Did you order SE handle or buldog ? I heard that SE handles are one run only. They are really nice , i dont know why they want to one run only.

A worthy note:The 2nd gen slant with the se handle weighs a serious 125 grams but the grip is outstanding.

Agreed , the grip is amazing but I didn't feel so heavy. Maybe because its perfect for my hands.

Do you know what is the weight of the head? I do to have a scale and I am curious

Thanks

Do you know the weight if the head only?

Thanks

Excellent, I'm looking forward to mine!

Is the apex on the DLC Slant top cap as high as the first generation?

I don't know since I no longer have the first iKon slant but it looks very similar. The center stud is twice as long as the first one and the blade appears to lock in with more precision then the original. If you ordered with the SE handle you are in for a treat.

Possibly an answer to my own question (and direct from the iKon website):

"Our 2nd Generation Production of This Amazing Razor Has Incorporated A Slightly Retooled Top Cap and a DLC surface coating to the 2 part head assembly"

Sadly, I ordered the head only. I might contact Greg and correct my error if he still has any left...

hi gents .... very curious to know, is there any difference in the shave quality compared to the old slant..... and has Greg addressed the blade loading / alignment issue this time ?

Yes...

"We have retooled the head of this 2nd generation model to tighten up the blade play that a very few expressed concern about - sorted."

Ben, I am looking forward to your observations on how the Ikon DLCs compare to your Weber DLC. You still have the latter, don't you? Biggrin

Yes I still have the Weber DLC (and The Muhle JET).

I find the Weber too mild and hence require extra passes which IMO counter acts its famed smoothness. If the iKon performs as expected, both shall be listed for sale...
