Have you considered banners of some sort? Maybe a banner for veterans or contributors?

This may be a few day old topic, but I am firmly in the anti-banners camp. It feels like that creates an elitist/tiered level of membership. I love simple, non cluttered layouts that keep everybody feeling equal.

I think we discussed this before and decided against it for the reason grantmm mentioned above.

Banners would also clutter the pages up in my opinion - I like the clean layout of the Nook compared to a number of other forums.

No banners, please, for the reasons given here. What we have is working for us.

Aaron, thanks for seeing both sides of this.

Actually that is not completely accurate. We have discussed it before and I am still considering it. I can see the benefits in terms of increasing support for the site. If we do it, it will something low key.

I have run a message board for 11 years and know how expensive it can be. With that said, I would hate to see this be a B&B wannabe with the associated elitism that seems to go along with it.

I will certainly support whatever decision is finally made however. Low Key is a good thing.

There are pros and cons with any decision of this type, and all factors are being taken into consideration.

Ultimately whatever is decided here will be in concert with the core values and theme of this forum, The Shave Nook, and its ideals.

I do agree that 'low key' is one of these themes.

Thank you, everyone, for your thoughts and ideas.
