Just had my first shave with the Edwin Jagger DE89 paired with a Gillette "Black Ninja" 7 O'clock blade. What a nice enjoyable shave I had. I picked up this razor on a whim because it looked so pretty. I had always heard it was a "beginners razor" so I really was not expecting much, other than getting a easy shave. I can see how it might be labeled as such because I had a very comfortable 3 pass shave. I almost felt I would have to go out of my way to nick myself. Of course I could have nicked self but it was a very close, easy and smooth experience all around. I haven't seen this razor mentioned much in the short time I've been here so I thought I would start a thread maybe getting some experiences good or bad with this razor.

Have you tried your DE89 with a Feather blade? They pair well with this razor, IMO.

The Muhle Twist version of this razor is one of the best in the stable. I really like 2 piece razors and the larger Grande sized handle makes the head just superb.

I love my Edwin Jagger DE89Lbl, I have only had this Razor about 2 months, so far used with Derby, Shark SS, Astra SP "Green" and Personna "Lab Blues" and in that order is good to best shave.

I have both DE89L and the new laser cut handle version (great handle). I like the Gillette silver blue blade best in them. Great smooth shave.
