hi guys ! i usually shave on alternate days with minimum irritation but whenever i try to make it on a daily basis my shaves become less smooth and i start getting more irritation. i wish i could shave daily without much irritation. i always take care of the prep part but want to know is there something else which can help me to make this possible ?
i also like to know how often do you guys shave ?

Everyday, 365 days a year. I've only missed two days in the past 50+ years due to a short hospital visit.

Daily.

I never had any hint of irritation when I was shaving daily with a Schick Hydro 3 razor. Now, almost three months into an experiment to see whether DE shaving could be right for me, occasionally, I will get localized irritation, probably due to inadvertent blade-scrubbing, during and immediately after a shave, but it usually calms down before noon.

Completely unexplored hypothesis: We have always been intentional in our selection of soaps (not just shaving soaps), and (ironically, until yesterday) have never had any of the New Era Detergents (going under names such as "body wash," etc). Our showers and the sinks in our bathrooms have only mild bar soaps. This one appears often.

(We have had a few recent generation guests in our home who could not figure out how to use the bar soaps in our main floor powder room -- I suspect they never had seen a bar of soap before -- and, to accommodate our guests, just yesterday, we put a small container of Dove Men+Care "Clean Comfort Mild Formula" in there for hand-washing. It seemed to be a better solution than trying to install an instructional video in there. We selected the "Clean Comfort" variety because reportedly Unilever has fairly successfully emulated the scent of Jean Paul Gaultier's "Le Male," which -- also reportedly -- appeals to 20-somethings.)

I am not saying that irritation from daily shaving comes from the (non-shaving) soaps that you use daily; but, because irritants can be cumulative, I throw out the hypothesis as one that you may wish to explore.

I am daily shaver. I don't always attempt to achieve a BSS shave. Sometimes I am satisfied with 2 passes.
If you are having issues with irritation, I might suggest avoiding the ATG (against the grain) pass. See if that helps.
Good luck.

every day since I began wet shaving around May of last year. Three passes, never any irritation issues. Before that I would take Sundays off and it was that way since I took the beard off thirty years ago.

I'd love to have the patience to go 3-4 days without shaving, so I could get a nice bit of stubble going and really enjoy going from scruffy to smooth.

Unfortunately, with so many combinations of hardware and software in my stash, I shave every day just so I can try stuff out.

Six days a week. Sometimes five. My wife prefers stubble but I don't like it. For me the tie breaker is having to shave for work so a respirator will seal in the event of an emergency evacuation. I've never gone to work without shaving first. Partially due to what I view as a professional attitude about grooming and a partially due to safety.

Every day! I just can't tolerate the look and feel of even one-day stubble and I adore face-lathering! Biggrin

If there was something I had to go to after work that required keeping the suit and tie on, then I would also.

* Wow! I haven't worn a suit and tie in over 20 years! Come to think of it, I don't even own a suit! Biggrin

Daily. The only days I've missed over the past couple years were when I had the flu and when I had a pretty bad sunburn.
