I had a small balance in my PayPal account, so I ordered a couple of French soaps from thesuperiorshave. I've used artisan, Italian, and other countries but nothing French.

They arrived yesterday, and I test lathered them. Very nice lather! I shaved with the 'Savon à Barbe' Shaving Soap this morning. Very nice scent and wonderful protection. Very easy to get a nice lather too! The scent is very floral, but still manly. I liked it so much I packed it for our week long cruise were leaving on tomorrow.

if you happen to live near a L'Occitane store, go pick up a puck of their cade soap or a tube of their cream. It's a very popular product for not a lot of money.

L'Occitane Cade and Pre de Provence shave soaps are excellent, as well as reasonably priced, long lasting, readily available.

I'm not about to disagree . . . but . . .

The Thé Vert (Green Tea) scent of Provence Santé shaving soap "wears" better than any scent I have encountered.

You know how scents are: "Wow!" at first whiff; "Pleasant, I like it," as you have your third or fourth shave; "O.K., I'll put it into the rotation," as you get used to shaving with it regularly; and "Ready to move onto something else," by the time the puck is used up. The Green Tea scent is not like that: the longer you use it, the more it grows on you.

Besides, Green Tea is the only Provence Santé shaving soap that is offered through drugstore.com, where I get free shipping. Smile

Provence Sante Green Tea is probably the best smelling shaving scent I've ever smelled.

I sold off all of my shaving soaps a while back and almost kept the green tea puck from provence sante just because it smelled so good.

Wait! Where's the Le Pére Lucien? Huh

Tongue

Just got my 2 tubs of it combined and out of the metal container and into the large double walled white jar.

Agreed, 'Savon à Barbe' is a great soap!

Institut Karite also gets my vote as a French favourite

Eric, the really strange thing is that with my sensitivity to scents I thought I would never like it. I didn't buy it, rather it was a freebie, from Phil I think, but I'm not certain of that. Anyway, the scent grew on me; the performance wasn't in doubt.
