This is a question for Antica Barbieria Colla soap users. In your experience which one is the better product, the hard soap or the shaving cream? I've heard of Antica Barbieria Colla Bitter Almond but I didn't see it on their website so I'm assuming that the hard soap is what most people use.

The shave cream is a slightly better product IMO. The scent is the same for both.

I can't speak about the cream but I love their hard soap. My favorite Italian almond soap.

I will say this, when we are talking about hard soap here, it is not MWF hard. It does have some pliability to it.

So then the hard soap is actually a croap?

If that's the case, then the croap is very nice stuff. I haven't tried the cream. The cream might be easier to load the brush, but frankly I have no problem with the croap. I also have extremely soft water.

Thanks for the input everyone. I looked at the picture of the "hard" soap and it definitely looks croap-ish. That's the one I'll probably end up ordering. Have any of you used P.160 (the original not the RR product),if so, how would you say it compares to the Antica Barbieria Colla croap?

Abc is a hard soap in my opinion, harder than a croap. I had the original soft p160 and liked it but it seemed more artificial to me where as the abc is very natural. You don't get a crazy lather explosion but the slickness and scent can not be matched. The closest I've come is Panama Boellis which I have and love as well.

To give you an idea how hard it is, I use a butter knife to scoop out an almond size piece of soap for my bowl. I then bowl lather the soap and always get a rich creamy lather.

P.160 was my previous favorite almond croap. ABCBA is better than P.160 by a hair IMO.

You really can't go wrong with either Boellis or Antica. Both are amazing.

Panama Boellis can be purchased from Italian Barber and Antica can be purchased from Old Town Shaving in California but you have to call them. Ask for Damon Smile

You can buy Valobra soft soap (almond, or menthol) for like $15, give or take.

Boellis and ABC are also very good. Valobra is much more modestly priced and easier to find.

I have ABC, Boellis, P.160 and other Italian croaps. ABC and Boellis are the best YMO, but i like a little more the scent of ABC.
