I hate to see these go, but I'm serious about my downsizing. These two custom brushes from master craftsman Rudy Vey have handles made from genuine pre-ban ivory and Shavemac D01 two-band knots. They lather soaps and creams beautifully, they have wonderful body and fine flowthrough, and now that they've been used around a dozen times each, their very white tips are quite soft. They have been given loving care, the handles dried carefully after use and treated every 4-6 months with Renaissance Wax. The selling prices are exactly what I paid.

First is a Chubby 1 with its D01 2-band knot at 23mm/47mm. $520 $425 shipped CONUS. SOLD
Edit: I examined the brushes more closely and found that this one has a 5mm hairline crack and slight 3mm roughness at the edge of the base. I don't remember dropping it or hitting it on anything, but I guess I must have, perhaps on the sink surface. Anyway, I have reduced the price accordingly and tried to show the slight defect in the last two images.

Second is a Persian Jar 2 with its D01 2-band knot at 21mm/51mm. $490 $465 $450 shipped CONUS.

Please, no comments about the ivory ban or poaching or anything else in the way of a personal opinion about use of ivory.

No, I wanted to keep them pristine. I asked Rudy not to put his usual RV on the bottoms.

Someone asked for images of the base of the PJ, showing the grain, so here they are.

I would buy the ivory PJ in a second if I didn't already have one from Rudy with my name engraved on the bottom. Exact same knot too. A classic German knot with a classic German - style handle from an expert German craftsman. This is a once in lifetime brush at a great price.
