what do you folks think of stirling's bath soaps?

I'm looking for something that'll replace my body wash that uses more natural ingredients.

Do the stirling bath soaps lather up well?

I have only used a sample of their Sharp Dressed Man bath soap, so my experience is very limited and perhaps skewed. It is supposed to be modeled after Green Irish Tweed, but to me it didn't have much scent. It lathered just fine, but it didn't seem to last very long.

They are all I use anymore. As John said, they lather great and also have great skin conditioning. I have used 5 or 6 of them, but I keep going back to the Scots Pine Sheep.

I have used 4 or 5 bars of it. The first time you use it its a little grabby. But after that its good soap. You just have to keep in mind that its actual soap and not a mass produced cleansing bar. The scents are ok. Its worth a try. The bars I got were pretty big.

I know YMMV but about how long would everyone say a bar normally lasts? Never tested their soaps to know consistency. By that I mean harder soaps have longer life than soft.

how do you lather your bars? directly on the skin? wash rag? on a shower loofah?

I'll ask the same question as above:

I love their bath soaps. I've used black cherry and I'm using honeysuckle now, both great scents. I lather them directly on my skin, no wash cloth. They have great moisturizing properties.

They are all I use. Wonderful formulation, lather, and skin feel.

And it's fun to find the scents you like. Some are stronger than others, some are more subtle.

My three favorites are lime, almond creme, and Sharp Dressed Man.

Lather directly on skin.

used a sample soap that Rod sent me called 'weekend in Malibu', I think.

the smell is absolutely fantastic and the soap lathered very well. this was a surprise to me because I've never really found a soap that lathered well on my bath loofah.

I've used a few of the Stirling bath soaps. Lime, Naked and Smooth, Stirling Clubman, Scot and one with oatmeal scrub in it. The Clubman smelled the best, followed by the Lime for me. I use the lanolin soaps to combat Colorado dry summer. The soap with the oatmeal works better as a hand soap its rough. I dont use a scrubby or loofah all the time I've read that its not a great idea to use one all the time so I'll use a facecloth or just rub the soap. Using a bath soap and then using the same scented shave soap is awesome.

Barbershop is my favorite bath soap of his because it not only smells Great but the scent sticks around for hours on my skin. Alot of the other scents fade very quickly but Barbershop has some very good staying power.

I've noticed the scent sticking around for about 4-6 hours. that's not too bad to me!

I'm using barbershop right now. It's a great bar of soap, feels good on the skin. I'm not in love with the scent though, a little too industrial smelling to me.

I got about 7 days of use from the sample bath soap that Rod sent me.

I just started in on my facial soap and I'm loving it. This bar seems to lather much better than the sample I used (weekend in Malibu), and the last one lathered pretty good.

His barbershop scent is very unique and one of a kind. Its much different than all the other barbershop scents I have tried and I really enjoy it. I recently received Mikes Barbershop (shave soap) and I am Extremely Happy with it! I have not tried mikes barbershop bath soap yet but I intend to. Mikes shave soap is more of a main stream scent to my nose but there is something about it that just makes its Fantastic! Very clean smelling without being overboard. Anymore Fragrance and it would have been like a cologne. Mike nailed it perfectly! I can't get enough of it. There will always be a tin of mikes and stirling Barbershops in the rotation for me.

well, I just finished off my facial bar soap (full bar) that I started using on the 11th.

while I like the soap, having it only last around 2 weeks is not very long at all.
