Hi folks,

I told the wife that I'd put this question out there to see if anyone had tips for her.

When she shaves her legs, her legs become incredibly itchy for about 2 days after her shave before it subsides.

She uses a badger brush with a TGN knot, 1 of those female gillette cartridge razors (5 blades, I think) and whatever shaving cream she sees in my drawer since she used up the KMF cream she had. The itching has always been present whether she used the KMF or some other cream I had.

After the shave, she uses unrefined shea butter on her legs. in fact, she uses USB before going to bed each night, I think.

any tips or advice?

I'd pay better attention to the scents or ingredients in the soaps that she's using. When did this come about or had she dealt with it her whole life?

My wife has/had this problem, and a couple things helped greatly.

She started shaving daily, and she uses a sugar oil scrub. (She bought some she loved and I found the ingredients for her to replicate it)

She's been itch free and I get to enjoy smoother legs.

I'm not quite sure on that. I'll need to ask her in the morning.

The one she's making now is avocado oil, raw sugar, glycerine and a little mango fragrance oil. I'll try to get a picture of the original, I think she saw that Walmart is carrying it now, has all the above ingredients plus maybe Shea butter.

Definitely try a quality artisan soap that only uses essential oils, or is unscented.

Andrew, I have never heard of this. I actually shave my legs for cycling and I had never had any issues with itchiness. I am surprised she is getting the itchiness since she uses unrefined shea butter.
Could it be a reaction to the brush-hair? If it isn't an ingredient in the soap, this might be a possibility.
Good luck to her in resolving it.

I asked and my wife said the scrub used daily, maybe every other day but it starts to itch a little, is the only thing that works for her. Here's the original she purchased, comes in several flavors.[Image: 7emudy4u.jpg]

My daughter was having itchiness after using shaving soap. Turned out she wasn't getting enough water in it, and thus it wasn't rinsing off thoroughly enough.

forgot to reply.

the wife shaved the other day without using a brush and was still itchy after the shave.

at least this helps narrow down the problem some...

not as far as I know.

my wife did shave the other night after showering. I'll ask her tonight when I get home from work if that helped with her problems or not.
