I have tried Barrister and Mann Bay Rum and did not care for the scent (great lather). I have also tried Mystic Water Bay Rum - great scent; however, did not care for lathering. Has anyone tried Strop Shoppe or Stirling Soap Bay Rum? Or, does anyone have any recommendations? I want to go with an artisan soft soap. I know the scent is kind of subjective but I am looking for a nice scent coupled with ease of lathering.

Thanks much for recommendations.

Ed

I am not a huge bay rum guy but if you are interested in Stirling, I would give it a try as I've never been disappointed with any scents Rod has produced.

Hope you find the right one!

I have used the Stirling Bay Rum for some time now and really like it. It is one of my "full puck" Stirling soaps.

I've been enjoying HTGAM Synergy Bay Rum. It is just a simple bay scent, but a very nice performer. At first, I thought the scent was a little overpowering, but it has either mellowed or I have gotten used to it.

I am a Strop Shoppe fan, but find the scent of their bay rum to be too mild. My two favorites are Mike's and B&M. For a spicy bay rum cream, Al's Calypso can't be beat. I haven't tried Captain's Choice bay rum soap, made by RazoRock, but I would expect it to be good, especially if you like Captain's Choice bay rum aftershave.

I haven't used it, but you could try Catie's Bubbles Barnegat Bay. The performance on their soaps is stellar.

Also a vote for Ogallala Bay Rum. It's cheap and great performing. And their ASL is great too.

try honey bee's soap http://www.honeybeesoaps.net/catalog.php...aving_Soap, smells similar to mw, but might prove to be less of a challenge lathering for you.

sea grapes studio is also a nice one and easy to lather. http://www.seagrapesstudio.com/soap.htm

I really like Beer Soap Brewing Company's Bay Rum (made with Red Stripe beer!).

Not a big fan of the bay rum scent, but I could use that one day in/day out.

Stirling's Bay Rum was the first Bay Rum scent I ever tried, but did not really care for it. It was very sweet and spicy - almost sickly sweet to me. I found B&M's to be better, but still not overall impressed with Bay Rum so far.

HTGAM Synergy Coconut Bay (Bay Rum)
Very easy to lather and one of the best smelling soaps I have ever smelled.
I will leave it on the counter after a shave and every time I go into the bathroom, I have to smell it or put a bit on my hands so I can smell it throughout the day.
A very addicting soap :-))

I'm not a huge fan of Bay Rum but the is one company that makes a bay rum that I do like. LA Shave soap company has their Santa Monica Bay Rum scent. Its the only bay rum I have kept in my den and use regularly.
