My recommendation would - as usual - be Krampert's Finest Bay Rum and/or Krampert's Finest Frostbite.

Does your skin well, lasts a long time, and importantly smells great - I've gotten several questions from both enlisted and fellow officers as to where I get mine - and made by ShadowsDad here on the forum Wink

See, this is the problem. ... I don't have any experience with aftershave. I wish there was a shop near me so I can go smell all of em and find one we both like

I second this unreservedly. Krampert's should be tried by all.

To bad you're not near New Orleans. Aiden Gill shops have an extensive collection of aftershaves/colognes and y'all could give them a sniff test.

Other than that, I would recommend going to a Sally's Beauty Supply and checking out the Pinaud line they carry. Might want to check out Dillard's (if you have them) since they have a fairly nice collection as well.

That's all I got for now

If you had general scents you like, it would help in narrowing your options. For instance, if you and your wife would like a sweet orange scent I'd suggest Razorock Don Marco.

If you go with your wife to a store that carries higher end fragrances, Fine Accoutrements have based their aftershaves on these colognes. If you like one of the colognes listed below then you can buy the Fine aftershave for a fraction of the price.

American Blend - YSL Rive Gauche
Fresh Vetiver - Tom Ford’s Grey Vetiver
Italian Citrus - Acqua di Parma
L'Orange Noir - Terre de Hermes
Clean Vetiver - Guerlain Vetiver
Platinum - Creed Aventus

D.R. Harris Sandalwood was very nice but quite strong. Floid Blue has a great scent but doesn't last long on my skin. Most women find it to be Old Smelling but I love it. I will have Floid Amber today and let you know what I think of it.

If you want something more for skin care purposes I would check out Stirling. His balms leave a nice scent on the skin for a decent amount of time and keep your skin feeling great. His splashes are nice for the skin as well but don't leave much scent behind. Kramperts is also nice stuff but I found out that I don't care much for Bay Rum. I haven't tried The frostbite A/S from him.

There are so many nice aftershaves out there. Its always tough to just pick one!
