I've heard some guys use toilet paper rolls. You could wrap them in tissue paper and tape them. Or hit the home improvement store and get some PVC pipe.

Thick table paper around it works fine

I put them in a shoebox, standing on end right next to each other. I don't bother wrapping or encasing them. I haven't had a problem with it at all.

I put them in a box that contained 24 lamps, each brush has his compartment. Something like this

The old shelves...

And the boxes that I want to keep are stored in a cupboard somewhere else.

I bought some round document mailing tubes from Staples. They work great!

I have these stick strip spice jar holders. I stick the strips on the wall, they have little half moons for spice jars. But I find they hold my Brushes perfectly.

I think the toilet paper roll and wrapped in quality (soft) paper towel is the best idea.

You want to do this, right? File folders cut to size, then taped.

Works great for me.
