I have quite a few soaps in my den and I use them all. But every time I shave with RazoRock whatever, I get a really superior shave. I know the RR topic has been sort of beat into the ground with accolades, but there's just something going on that my face loves. It always leaves my skin feeling kissed by the gods of shaving. I have a few others that give similar results but the RR is just a consistently great soap for a fair price.

I agree. The Captain's Choice and The XXX soaps really protect my skin and afford me a smooth, refreshing shave. And the price can't hardly be beat. Exclamation

They give me a good shave also. I like the old XXX and do like the Captain's Bay Rum.

Agreed Doc...they always give a great shave and are more than reasonable price wise

Hello,
I've tried a sample of the razor rock bay rum from the captain. It really works well for my face and the scene is great too!

I just bought a lather bowl and some razor rock as a gift from the captain's site. I could not resist. I had to get a bottle of the lime aftershave for myself. He gave me some samples at my office the other day. I'm hooked. Biggrin

I've used the Captain's Choice and like it a lot. I'm still looking forward to trying the XXX and Son of Zeus that's in the den now.

ymmv aside, RR soaps are super! Excellent quality, price and most importantly, the great lather they give. They are right there in my rotation with PannaCrema soaps. Joe does an excellent job at bringing these(and other) fine Italian soaps soaps to us. Enjoy your lather.Biggrin

Most of my soaps are R&R soaps. I have yet to find one that did not perform well. Anymore I dont worry about wondering if a new R&R will do well. I just buy for a new scent I have yet to try knowing already it will perform like a champ!

Very good quality at an affordable price.

I think it's brilliant that Joe rescented traditional Italian soap. I particularly like Zi' Peppino, Mudder Focker and King Louis (although I don't know if a Karite soap is a traditional Italian soap). The King of the Castle line is excellent too.

I had a sample of Fresco from RR that I just couldn't get to work well, but after hearing such great things about the tallow formula, I went ahead and bought a tub of XXX. It is absolutely amazing for $10, and the scent strength is phenomenal! I'm thinking of getting a tub of KOTC Lime next.

RR soaps are awesome indeed. I have 12 of them, and they are all excellent performers. Scent wise, the ones I like the best (and are in my current regular rotation) are: Classic, XXX, Freedberg, The Beach, and Zi'Pepp. Of course, I like 'em all.

Have 4 or 5 RR soaps now and all have been excellent performers at a price point that won't leave you gagging.

I'm of the opposite camp. Granted, I've not spent much time with these soaps, so I'm sure my method is partially to blame, but I've never achieved the stellar lather that so many seem to. I currently have Fresco, 888 and P.160. I love the smell of the P.160. The others are tolerable but not awesome. I had XXX, but didn't care for the scent so I traded it off.

I plan to revisit these soaps after a while and see if I can figure out what all the fuss is about.

Right, it couldn't be great for everyone. Try them again sometime and report back.

I've Captain's Choice and I was really disappointed with the mild scent strength. Do all you Razorock fans not mind?

I have CC RazoRock too and do find the scent to be very mild. Some of the other scents are stronger. Overall I find all their scents to be on the subtle side.

I agree, it is mildly scented... but I would rather have less scent, than have an overpowering scent in almost any given soap...With CC the mild scent doesn't bother me at all since it's always followed by a bay rum A/S, and the majority of the time it's one of the Captain's Choice B.Rums.

I agree, I'd rather use a mild scent for shave cream/soap so It won't conflict with aftershave or more lasting scents.
