Gents,
i owned few mdc fugure/original and loved the soap . I wanted to buy one cheaper soap as a beat around soap .
I was looking into le pere lucian ,tabac and synergy how to grow mostache. Tabac and synergy are $15. Le pere lucian 100 gm refill is also $15 .

I heard great things about tabac but not sure about le pere Lucien , tabac and synergy. Any feedback? If you have to pick one based on leather performance only. What would be your choice?

thanks

Those are all very good soaps, but LPL is of the same caliber as MdC.

Tabac soap in the bowl as well as Tabac soap stick will always be in my den. Fairly priced excellent shaving soap. The scent is somewhat of an acquired taste, but I enjoy it, don't love it but enjoy it and appreciate it. A mature dark tobacco rose scent

Definitely Tabac. LPL smells a lot like MdC original so try something g totally different. It's a champion performer and smells great.

I'm a little late to this thread.  However, my vote is "none of the above."  I've had/tried all three and all three are gone or stored.

There are others that I like better.  YMMV

I do have tabac and LPL; Synergy is here but not yet used
However, none of these is a bad soap. Make use of it to fit your purpose, whichever soap of these  you may chose and you can be just fine.

I always speak highly of LPL as it is my favorite soap. But I can say that I used Tabac for the first time a while back and it had probably been around 6 months before that I have shaved with it. I was very happy and surprised at how quickly and cakey the lather was. I was in aw of the performance and I do really like the scent. It is definitely a different scent and luckily I don't use the aftershave from Tabac. I have to use Tabac more frequently. I remember getting that soap early on and since it was my first tallow soap, I thought I was gonna be totally blown away. I was but it was just because I had finally gotten a great quality soap.

But LPL is still darn great soap.

I have all 3 and for lather performance only, i would put LPL at the top, followed by Tabac, then Synergy. There isn't a massive difference between the three from a lather perspective, but LPL is definitely # 1. The scents are completely different, so that is definitely a factor to consider. Any of these three will bring a smile to your face

I agree with others regarding LPL as the choice of those 3.

That said, for soaps with similar ingredients, I'd highly suggest L.A. Shaving soaps as worthy contenders to MdC soaps.
