Gents,
Just received my 2013 muhle r41. I am a regular user of 2011 R41 . First , I was little shocked to see the blade gap. However , the shave was comfortable. I think my 2011 is better shaver.

That blade exposure on the 2011 model is insane. I used that once and never again. A straight is more comfortable than that thing. If you use a forgiving blade, it's not too bad, but still. It's not as frightening as the Roedter, but it's close. The ATT H1 is up there. For some odd reason, the H2 doesn't feel as aggressive, which is odd. To me, all of the ATT plates cut pretty aggressively, but if you use a blade that agrees with you, it's pretty smooth. I think if the blade exposure on the ATT was tamed back just a bit, it would be perfect for me. I would pay just about anything if I could have a head custom made for me. I actually have to check into that.

Interesting. I have to try them again. I rarely ever use the H plates. That gap scares me. What blade are you using?

The 2011 R41 gives a very close shave but its uncomfortable doing it. The 2013 because the top plate is slightly over 20mm give a somewhat more comfortable shave. The H1 is much better and gives a very close and smooth shave.

I am a feather guy but I exclusively bought 100 astra super platinium for my ATT H1 plate as it works great with ATT plate. Highly recommended astra with H1 plate. I use feather with my 2011/2013 muhle r41. I found astra does little pulling and tugging with muhle r41.Feather is smooth with muhle.

Good to know, thanks cricket.I find the feathers work great with the R1 plate but like you don't care for them on the H1 plate.I'll definitely give the Astra's a try!
