No thank you. But then again I probably would have said the same about Apple decades ago. Soooo...

My 16 year old daughter tells me that Facebook is declining in popularity among her friends. That tells me all I need to know.

I'm probably one of the very few people out there without a Facebook page. I never understood wanting my life on line for everyone to see. No thank you.

You and me both. The stock is well over valued at this time.

Agreed the stock is over valued. The difference with it and say apple or others, is how much can FB grow.
Thant being said, you never know what will happen long term. I may look back in 10 year and say "wish I would have jumped in" Smile

I don't see FB growing much, but I could be way off. Two things which bother me about FB's market is 1) they seem to slowly be losing the very people who made it popular in the first place. As FB continues to attempt to turn themselves into Web 2.0 and a place to gather all the information you could ever need (really, car shopping through FB??), they lose the people (teens, young adults) who made it hip and edgy in the first place. 2) As more and more people continue to access FB through smart phones there is much ad revenue lost. Most smartphone (and tablet) users do not click on ads on their phone. Heck, one of the weaknesses of FB (and strengths of Google) is the fact that people are not going to FB to look to buy things, they are looking to meet up with friends. A large amount of Google users go to Google to actually BUY something. Targeted ads work there. Smile

BTW, SWMBO really REALLY wanted to buy Groupon stock when it came out, and I finally convinced her it was a bad idea. When the stock was down to almost half the IPO amount she finally said she was glad she didn't buy.

My track record on tech stocks is pretty good, although I do admit to selling Apple far sooner than I should have. I bought at $14 and sold at $90 after a split. Of course it has split one or two more times since then, and is going for slightly more than $90 ....... (Although at the time I thought I did well and I did pretty well with Sun also). Still kicking myself over APL. Could have retired now.

I should have been clearer. My opinion is there isn't much room for FB to grow. Which makes it different them some of the others that it's being compared to. Smile
But, like it said that only my opinion...
