Often we see threads about how great a certain blade is but I just had to say how smooth & sharp the Astra SP blade is.
When I first tried a Feather blade I thought they were the best but I noticed they work best in a mild razor. If I put it in a more aggressive razor like a Joris, I would get irritation on my neck.
Then I tried a Personna Lab blade. I thought they were super too but in an aggressive razor I found them to cause irritation also. For me I found, the Astra SP is a very sharp and very smooth blade. It is very popular and with good reason. It is a super sharp and super smooth blade.

I would certainly rather load an Astra SP than a Feather any day!

I really like the Astra blades. I also use a few others, but Astra's always stay in my rotation.

Same here. Work ok in my R41 and Gillette #15, decent but not great IMO.

Love Astra SPs. For me they are a sharp, smooth blade that work very well in everything I've tried them in so far.
If you like them, try the Crystals as well.

Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck with them and find it hard to use anything else except for the original Super Iridiums, now.

Yep, Astra SP rullz! I use them almost every day. Now I bought a pack of Astra SS to compare it with SP. Superior Stainless seems to be a little bit more harsh and aggressive blade than Superior Platinum but I need more shaves with it to make me a better idea.

I like to use Astra SP blades as well, indeed very smooth and sharp Smile But its not the most forgiving blade I would say. But alround I always say you can't ( almost ) go wrong with Astra SP blades.

Astra SP is the blade that works all around best for me, but I don't think I'll ever stop trying others. I seem to have good luck with platinum blades made in Russia. Someone mentioned Crystals and I find them very good too. Personna lab blues are OK, and Timor is another exceptionally good blade.

When I first started I preferred the SS, now they're both middle of the pack for me.

They're my safety blanket blade. It was my first 100 blade purchase. I stopped using them because I prefer a Feather or Crystal in my slant but in the R41, it's all I want to use. I just bought my second 100 as I also give them to new wet shavers.

Astra SP blades are great performers for me and the price is certainly right.

Feathers may be better, but not by much, IMO.
