I'm, looking to add a true classic to the rotation, and would prefer two things

1) cold/face freezer
2) great/classic summer scent

Whatcha got?

For face freeze, it is hard to beat Vostok from Queen Charlotte. I am a fan of citrus style scents in the summer...there are many to choose from there, Arlington being my favorite.

You know what? I find the Kabinett and the Barber Saloon soaps smell identical!

in another thread i put up somewhere we came to the conclusion that barbers saloon is probably made at the same place with cheaper ingredients for distribution at least here in canada it is distributed but a place out of montreal that does games and all kinds of other things,... that why i wanted the KK much better soap same great scent for me at least

Mama Bears Mandarin Ice Soap is excellent during the summer. Just enough menthol but not so much that it overpowers the orange. It's a great scent...i't smells identical to peeling an orange and taking a whiff. No artificial smell at all. I would imagine her lemon ice would be good as well but I haven't tried it.

AOS Lemon & Harris Arlington for me, for the time being.

Though I also have AOS Lavender, Harris Lavender and CF Lavender cream, can't go wrong with Lavender or citrus.

So I guess scratch the 'time being" Wink.

I will give another big big vote for http://www.queencharlottesoaps.com as they make some of the best soaps and creams that you will find anywhere. For cold/face freeze yes Vostok you will not find any that is much colder then this. For great classic scent you can try their Old Spice shave soap or cream. Their creams are more like an Italian soft shave soap and they come in a nice 5 oz container that you can lather from, just check out their site and read the ingredients that are used in their soaps.

For me:

Soaps: MWF and Proraso Green

Creams: Proraso Green, Palmolive Menthol, and Speick.

The MWF and Speick are not cooling, but they are fresh and help give a great shave.

I can always finish up with a cooling after shave.

Well, now that the warming trend appears to have returned to the almost still frozen north, I'll find myself using more lemon/citronella based scents, and menthol. I find most soaps don't have enough menthol so I add my own menthol drops to make them what I want them to be. It works for me. Use what I have and make them what I wish them to be.

Trumpers Limes!

For a cold feel standpoint I go for a Proraso hit with some AV. not a fan of either smell, but cools nicely without being overbearing.

For me it's T&H West Indian Limes shaving cream, followed by the WIL aftershave balm.

Since I got my Lilac Ice, the Mandarin has been shelved lol.

Its mentholated Lilac Vegetal without the cat pee, which is very nice.
