Just opened one of these up in Birmingham. Never thought I would see that here. Anything a must have from there?

I hate to say it but I love their Aftershave Balm.

Do go in and get the free sample box, it's a decent shave.

Just remember when you visit, the sales staff was trained by Gillette/Procter & Gamble. So they think they know everything.

I have found this to be true of 99 percent of the salesmen I meet. Before I buy something I do my research. I usually know the product better than the guy selling it.

Yes, always do this especially with technology, as I feel like the salespeople push what THEY like/use rather than address what your needs are

@uncledoley so AOS gives a free sample box. Is it soaps, aftershave or both?

It looks like this, has their preshave oil, cream and balm. I'm really not a big fan of the store, but I was blown away with the balm. Plus who doesn't enjoy looking at shave gear?

Many of the AOS shops are now carrying the Penhaligons line of colognes. Those are definitely worth picking up.

I always enjoy going into AOS stores. They do have fantastic aftershave balms, and in my opinion not much beats the scent of their sandalwood shave cream. Though I don't recommend venturing in with extremely high expectations of the knowledge base of the staff, I have visited a couple of locations where the salesman really knew their stuff, not only their own products but they actually were quite knowledgeable about shaving products in general. Unfortunately this is not the norm.

Anyone know of a store in Europe, that sells AOS products ?

I like their shaving creams and their after shave balms, but hate to pay for shipping from the US + tax and $15 on top as fee to the customs Angry

Definitely get their shave creams (ocean kelp and sandalwood are my favorites) and aftershave balms (unscented is my favorite). A very little goes a long way, and they are really great performers.

I can't imagine you don't love these 2 product lines (at least)… I have used almost everything they carry… shampoo, conditioner, face wash, face scrub, aftershave mask, overnight cream, hair gel, etc, etc, etc, etc. It is all excellent stuff, and I'm happy I can find it all in one place.

I'd steer clear of their shaving oil. Thick horrible stuff, the razor didn't seem to glide at all and I had to keep re-applying.
The unscented balm was excellent though.

When i used them I didn't seem to have as much issue with their pre-shave oil as other people do, but nowadays I don't use oils anyway.

I prefer that the cream/soap has everything it needs for the shave and AoS creams are definitely one of the few that need NO additional help from anything else, including pre-shave oil.

AoS should be in EVERY shaver's den who cares about comfort and performance.

To be honest I don't use oil as a rule, though it does have its benefits when I'm in a rush. It was more a case of trying it and comparing it to others I have used in the past.
Like you Nero, my soaps and creams give me more than enough protection for my shaves.

As others have said, the creams and balms are great. My wife bought me a bottle of the shave oil, way to sticky IMO. Nice store, friendly employees.

found them in Las Vegas on a vacation. they have 5 stores in las vegas now. like most I love the as balm sandlewood in particular. I found a mgr who knew his stuff. he actually left the store to talk to me in the mall. gave me a free sample of unscented in a nice bowl. I was so blown away I went in and bought the dovo shavette. Proctor and Gamble are the biggie here and it is mostly corporate so I do worry their intentions are cartridge related. rise up wet shavers
