Hi everyone...

I am not a big pipe guy.... Does anyone know what these are ? some are made in England, Belgium, France .... these are used.

How would one classify these ?

I don't know, but I'm fondly reminded of my father - he used to smoke pipes. He stopped a few years back - doctors suggestion - but there is something about pipe-smoke that, well, appeals yo my inner child.
The large one in the middle looks like a Meerschaum though.

Remember that I am a novice at pipe smoking. Yes, the large one in the middle is a Calabash Meerschaum. The one/ones that look like they are made from a corncobs are, in fact, corncob pipes. The rest are an array whose descriptions will depend on their shape. Beyond that, must "branded" pipes will have some identifying marks on them which you can cross-reference here: http://www.pipephil.eu/. Have fun!

The bits are pretty beat up, if you want to smoke them best thing is to clean the bowls with the salt-alcohol method to get all the dirt out.
