Hi everybody!! My name is Bill and I am very new to wet shaving. Been about a few weeks so I am still learning. The reason I got interested in wet shaving and in particular using a DE razor is the cost of cartridges. So pricey IMO.

So, I ask my dad who's 75yrs old if he had any old DE razors. He says hold on let me check. What does he find...his 60' Gillette Fat Boy. I am stoked at this point!! Then my mom says wait I have one laying around. She finds a 71' Gillette Super Speed!! Two vintage razors!! My dad asks why? I told him the reason and he said great! I am 43yrs old and my dad taught me on a Gillette Goodnews razor. By that time he had switched over and didn't teach me on a DE. So my first DE shave was pretty nice. Had the Fatboy at #3 and I was a tad too aggressive. Smooth shave but with some red dots. Btw..using Derby blades. So, I tried #2 the next and #1. Still at #1. Smooth shave with no nicks or burn. Wife loves it!!! Getting hooked on this is real easy!!LOL

So, it's still a learning experiance. I love the results from the extra attention given to my face. Also, using the Proraso soap and aftershave is wonderful! Threw my can of Barbasol away. I hope this doesn't get out of hand.LOL

I do have other hobbies. I play bass guitar, I love collecting old 40's period pieces and working on my 1990 Honda Civic. So, I hope to stick around here a while to learn and meet new people who wet shave. Thanks!!
