Long comb. Plating is well preserved. PAT. Jan 13, 192[0], other patents pending. No serial number, so I assume made between 1931-51.

Very nice. The NEW LC is one of my favorite shavers. Beware: that gold wash is quite thin (I accidentally polished off most of the gold wash from one of my NEW SC razors. Oops!Blush
Enjoy the shaves!

DrAwkward, thanks! Yeah, gold plating on these things is thin from the factory. They normally have a few coats of lacquer over them to protect them, but many polishes will remove that. Once that's gone it's real easy to lose the gold plate itself.
I took this one apart, sunk it in a sink full of hot, soapy water for about half and hour, used a soft cloth to gently clean and dry it, and dipped in alcohol and let it air dry. Cleaned up well.

Thanks, Freddy. They are a favorite of mine as well.
Had a wonderfully smooth shave with it this evening. Crystal blade, Stirling Lavender Sage.

Celestino, buddingshaver, David, thanks!
Buddingshaver, I am not that good. I am just blessed having a local shop where the owner looks for shaving gear to sell, and sells them at a good price. But I have to be careful and stop by a couple times a week. He says that the shaving gear sells well, which means that there's at least one more person doing the same thing I am. Maybe I will meet him sooner or later. That might be cool.

Gotta find a place like that near me. I tried an antique mall nearby and some estate sales - no luck. You'd figure any estate sale should turn up at least one old razor, but I bet the eBay sellers pick them up early (most seem to start on Thursdays).

Brian, never been to an estate sale, but I've seen a few posts of guys who scored big time at one. I'd keep attending them, if I were you.
AngryGreek, never tried a SC, but I'm looking for one. My LC New is probably the best DE I've got, though, in terms of the shave it delivers.

Mouser, that's a lovely Old Style. I hope to find one in similar shape one day.
