Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can reach a larger target audience? On my facebook, I receive very little feedback despite a large friend base. I don't use instagram and I post regularly to Flickr.

Any idea what my next step would be? Positive or negative, it would be nice to know what others think. I guess my subjects just aren't interesting or striking enough and I'll have to try harder. The first image I posted got a LOT of feedback from her Facebook page.

I would think it's just gonna take more time going through Facebook alone. Many folks may never see your posts on Facebook. People have to choose to receive notifications from you to make sure you pop up on their news feed. Any particular reason why you don't use Instagram? I see lots of professional photographers on Instagram, and Tumblr both. They are more geared toward the portfolio style. Also you could consider a blog. If you want to get seen you need to be on as many social networks as possible. I'd probably also consider starting a facebook/instagram page just for your photography. Enter a contest or two. Get something published. Join a photography forum and share your photos, and make sure to link to your blog, flickr stream, Facebook/Instagram page etc.

Congrats Bryan, they are some nice pics. I can only imagine the thrill you must be experiencing at learning something new and being passionate about it and getting paid on top. Cool I have been thinking of taking some photography classes too.

It was a blast! I highly recommend podcasts. I've learned most of what I know from them.

Photofocus is a good one to start with. The early ones are best, it got way too commercial towards the latest episode. It sounds like one long ad now.

I don't have a camera right now. I took a look at the D610 at a local shop - I'm pretty much set on that. I need to sell off my DX lenses and then I'll be good to go Smile

Thanks for the response Bryan. The 610 does look impressive.

Mind if I ask why you sold the 7k?
