All sold...I think Joe was working on a DLC slant that a few people got to try out.

Not all sold. That is a placeholder page so that folks can read the disclaimer about this particular upcoming prototype. Joe recently posted on another shave forum, reiterating the next prototype is not yet for sale. When the time comes the razors will go on sale in random batches, so it is fair for everyone - no special advantages. His limiting factor is time on the CNC machine - larger projects take precedence on this expensive machine. He can only get so many made per unit time.

I have to be patient. I know I will eventually get one of these slants, but there is going to be a big rush during the first few runs. I'll wait until the furor dies down.

Apparently it is the Time of The Slant. iKon just came out with theirs, RazoRock's slant is imminent, and ATT is working on theirs aiming for a Xmas Season release. What a great time to be a slant lover!!!

I have to post a disclaimer though.

I am biased toward ATT razors. I started out with an Atlas 5 piece OC set, and not much later I added a Kronos 5 piece SB set. My impulse is to wait and buy the ATT Slant. The RR Slant will depend on the random whims of Mother Nature! Angel

They have not been put out for sale from what I heard even so the ad says sold out.

Don't forget that the iKon #102 Slant is also around the corner as well.

There's a photo on the iKon Facebook page.

I hope y'all have been monitoring Joe's site because he's been slowly releasing the prototypes for sale.

I lucked into ordering one from the small batch that went on sale Sunday. I'll post some impressions when I get it in hand.

Me too. What I'm curious to see is the differences in fit and finish between the prototypes.

He's been releasing small amounts (10 or so) at random times. It's a different approach than before, with the hopes that if he doesn't announce the times beforehand it won't be a mad dash on the store and have people who've been waiting around refreshing the sites miss out. There's pros and cons to either approach.

These are raw unfinished razors according to their website along with a kind of threat if you try to sell it on eBay for a profit he will make you pay him 10 grand. Also selling 10 razors at random times does nothing only makes more guys mad. What a way to do business kind of arrogant.

It can have machine marks but because of safety reasons i expect there to be almost none or only cosmetic ones. He wants serious wetshavers to test it, not novelty seekers (so it's to scre those away). The rule about eBay was a joke i think, either way it's not legally binding. Selling 10 razors at a time DOES help, since it helps people from different time-zones and occupations have a shot and a lottery system was no option for him due to previous experience, it was the next best thing he could do to distribute it evenly (i got one, Netherlands, it was 23:45 / 11:45PM here). Some think it's hyping but there are only 100 prototypes and there are always more then a 100 clients willing to test anything Joe puts on the market. Even the production run will be very limited. So there's no need to hype it. With a soap i can understand it, since he can have tens of thousands. Now the people on the fora, yes they did hype it. Still sounded like a razor with potential.

No it's not. What about giving people awake at different times an opportunity to buy is arrogant? I think he's trying to be equitable. No need to be cynical, Joe is a good man. He's been nothing but helpful to me ever since I started doing business with him. You can't please everyone.

No not cynical just a little angry the way he is doing this. If the razor is so fantastic why doesn't he just make about 3000 and sell them normally. Playing gamesSad

He's not playing games. He's hired a small machine shop with limited capacity. If he could produce larger batches of them he probably would. I've tried the razor and it's definitely a great shave.
