What kind of camera do you shoot with? Lens?

Great pictures. Also, do you do any post editing like Photoshop?

Thanks,

Chris

I loved the decor of Al Capone's cell (even though what's on display is only a facsimilie of the real deal from way back then). Nice images. That tour is fun. The rest of those cells must have been rather terrifying.

Thanks, Rob.
A fascinating place, this penitentiary is ... with much historical significance. I wanted to do one of the evening tours, which are supposedly quite frightening, however I had my children with me.
Al Capone's cell ... very neat.

You captured some terrific images. HDR can create some interesting photos in that environment.

Thank you, Ed.
The Penitentiary closed in 1971, and was left abandoned for many years. It was slated for destruction and site redevelopment, but then efforts to preserve and maintain the landmark were successful.

Nice. I shoot with a cannon 7D and the lens varies.

I haven't had an opportunity to shoot some photos in a long time. Maybe I'll head downtown Detroit for some ruins photos.

I just may next time I get some free time. Do you use a polarized filter or any physical lens filter on the camera in general?

Beautiful photos, Ravi! I am surprised you didn't place your shaving gear in one or two for a SOTD pic! Biggrin

If I'm not mistaken Eastern State was the first penitentiary in the US.

The idea of a penitentiary comes from France where the idea was that an offender needed time away from society (usually 30 days) in silence and genuflect to God and be penitent.
