I wanted to give an official shout out about WSP Rustic Shave Soap. I have been using and acquiring this soap since initial release and I believe Lee has created a genuinely excellent soap.

Packaging is perfect. A 4 oz tin that easily fits in the hand and wide enough to load even the bigger brushes. The initial order came with a basic sticker with name and ingredients, but the new logo stickers are nice. The couple samples I ordered are very neat little tins as well, perfect size for tossing in with the Cobra tour for example.

The soap itself is a real performer. It jumps off the puck into the brush and instantly lathers. I've made a habit of initially shaking a little more water out than normal as to more easily control the amount of lather. The lather is the slickest I've used to date, and it becomes so without sacrificing thickness.

Post shave skin feel is nice. I usually use a balm or lotion, but when using this soap my skin feels well enough with just AS splash.

There are a wide variety of scents, all of the ones I have used have been great, although a few could stand to be a bit stronger. There is still a lot of experimenting going on in that department and feedback seems welcome.

I have been reaching for this soap more than any others recently, and it has quickly pushed a lot of great performers down to my "drawer 2". So little product is used that these tins will likely last a very long time. Even after the "introductory pricing" is over I believe this soap will still offer one of the best bargains available. Hope you're all enjoying this as much as I am, and I highly recommend grabbing at least a sample if you've not tried it. Happy shaving!

I am a big fan of this soap myself. It works fantastic for me. I've used soaps most of my 20+ years of wet shaving and this is a great one. A few creams over the years, but mainly stick with soaps.

Lee's got more scents in stock now and he's marked down the bay rum samples to $0.49!
I just ordered a bunch more.

I tried the new WSP Rustic Shaving Soap today. I ordered the Mahogany scent: mahogany accented with Italian bergamot, apple wood, Tonka bean, patchouli, cedar wood, oak moss, cardamom, vanilla bourbon and allspice. The scent is great! It reminds me of a fine pipe tobacco. It is another excellent Artisan soft soap. Ingredients: stearic acid, water, potassium hydroxide, coconut oil, glycerin, fragrance oil. The only I have an issue with is the tin. For me, it is too narrow with no “room at the top”. It also left a circle of rust on my sink. I am going to transfer it to an 8 oz Specialty Bottle Tub. All in all though, I think Lee and Wet Shaving Products have a winner with these new soaps!

Max-It is actually a pillow I had made from an Axis deer hide. I also have an Axis rug.

I transferred it to the jar. Much better, IMHO.

Here's a label you can modify & print for the lid.

Very cool Bob, I like the pillows and rug.

Good idea transferring it to the other container. I've been into wiping my soaps and containers off as of late, so that's why packaging hasn't bothered me.

Thanks

I had my 2nd shave with the Mahogany Rustic Shaving Soap. It is much easier to work with in the 8 oz jar. After loading my brush for 20 seconds in the jar (which was probably too long) I got enough thick, slick, cushioning, great smelling lather for a 3+ pass shave. A keeper for sure.

I take all my soaps out of the tins, just easier for me to use out of a jar with a little more side on it.

I just finished my first full puck of Rustic Mahogany. This has become one of my “Top 5” soaps! The performance is exceptional on all fronts. I also really like the Mahogany scent.
It is time to reorder…………….

I still do not like tins. I will transfer this new one too.

I have been using the Fougere Noir and Barbershop , as well as samples of the Lavender & cedar and Sandalwood and Rose and I have been quiet impressed by them.Very slick lather , quiet thick and 100% vegan. Are they Martin de Candre ? Well , those are big words indeed , but WSP and the woman behind the soaps (she have been working with Lee to provide good creations) have done a great job.USA have amazing shaving soaps made by excellent artisans (Barrister Mann , Cold River Soaps , Mikes , Mystic Waters...) and seems that WSP have joined that wagon.By the way , I truly have liked those 4 scents , specially the Fougere Noir and the Sandalwood and Rose. The Barbershop is quiet a clean and fresh scent , perfect for spring/summer days.
