Hello Everyone!

I was hoping to get some input on storage tubes for my shaving brushes. Any recommendations on which storage tubes to go with? I need 4 tubes in total and want to make sure I buy descent/quality tubes.

Tubes would have to fit Simpsons M6/MF 2XL/and MF Chief

Thanks,

Chris

I don't have any personal experience, but I literally was just looking at some tubes at Bullgoose Shaving. They have two different tubes to choose from. I actually just purchased a leather brush case from Amazon yesterday, but I kinda wish I had seen stumbled across the tubes first (they're cheaper).

For storage of brushes that are in between rotation, not used frequently, etc, I keep them in toilet paper tubes placed vertically inside a clean coffee can or large family size peanut can. The can goes in a bathroom closet. I don't cover the can, because Southeast Utah humidity is rarely over 30%.

It's a simple, minimalistic approach, but it works just fine for me. Recycled TP tubes are plentiful and free!

These are pretty cool, inexpensive and you can use them travelling.

You can buy them from connaughtshaving.com or shaving.ie, for instance. There are also 2 Spain based web stores that sell it. "Gifts and Care" and soloafeitado.com

The Muhle tube is nice. Simpson also makes a large tube. I believe the dimensions are listed on their web site.

I've had the Muhle tube, but sold it when I sold my Black Fibre brush. I currently have the small Simpson tube and use it with my Case for travel.

I've got a few different sizes of prescription bottles and I drilled holes in them so they can breathe. If you're a regular at a certain pharmacy they'll usually show you what they have and give them to you for free. The ones that weren't the right size for brushes were perfect for the other junk that litters my desk drawer and tool chest.

I also use TP tubes for storage of some of my brushes, but my reasoning is a bit neurotic. I don't like too much bloom on my brushes, so I put them in tubes for a day or two (only if they are 100% dry) to keep the bristles more tightly packed. Yes, I know that this absurd exercise is purely aesthetic and does not change the performance of the brush ...

Its funny because I also use a TP tube to control the bloom. I just don't like the look of a huge splayed out fan on my brushes. I leave them in only to dry them. I use a plastic tube like the one shown above for travel.

Like RedRocks idea. It gives the brushes a chance to air without getting crushed.

I have a pill bottle tube that I use for travel. It would also work well hear. I just went to the pharmacy with the brush and they gave me one that fits the brush perfectly. I took it home and drilled a few vent holes in it and its good to go. Best part is that the guy didn't charge me for it.Biggrin

you can also use a large prescription bottle if you can find 1 that'll hold your brush.

Hello,

I have one last question. Is there a particular tube that will fit the chubby 3?

Thanks,

Chris
