From experience I can tell you, "why do you have all those shoes and purses when you can only wear one outfit at a time," will not yield a fruitful conversation. Trust me on this.

Sounds like my wife. I just smile and nod my head now; no point in trying to explain it to her.

My wife and I have discussed this. We actually laugh about it while she's looking for shoes and or purses the same color as she has. She gets it, but so do I!

She admits she has PAD and SAD Biggrin

My wife doesn't get my hobbies. Thinks I spend money on "frivolous" items. Not true...one needs more than 5 different razors!!! Small amount for some but for her.....

My wife was reading this thread at the same time I did... We both laughed as we know that we will never get it, but will love and accommodate the others "hobby". I have a great SWMBO. :big grin: I hope you do too.

The best response I've heard came from a gentleman's wife on SRP, "Tell her that this shaving experience is akin to a wonderful mani/pedi at the spa, and sometimes you just have to treat yourself." I wrote that one down so that I'm prepared the next time she asks. Biggrin

Last night my wife says: I need a manicure. It's $30. I respond. MMMnnn, I need a new shave soap. It's $30 and it'll last waaayyy longer than your manicure.

The trick is to convince your significant other that all shaving gear brushes, razors, soaps must dry for 7 days after use. Therefore, one needs a minimum of seven of each.
The problem arises after the 8th of a set arrives. This problem is addressed by changing the items nomenclature. This strategy, now allows for 7 new purchases. For instance, on buying a Cobra, it is obviously a SE razor and therefore a completely different breed of hair removal device than a DE. A short handle brush becomes a skin defoliator.Be creative. We can have more shaving gear than her shoes and purses combined with the use of some some semantic creativity.
My greatest fear however remains. Mainly that after I pass away my wife will sell my shaving gear for what I told her I paid for it.

SWMBO is an artist by trade and is familiar with the various hairs that are used for paint brushes, and why certain shapes and hairs are best for certain applications.

She actually knows more about water retention in knots than I do. Some of her teeny weeny brushes cost more than my Best badgers and I was totally floored when she told me about kolinsky Sable brushes.

To the OP, I agree with your wife. I can't get into the multiple brushes.
