Disclaimer : I haven't paid for any of the 4 brushes that I have received from Tipsoft brushes.I'm a long time friend with Onur , the gentleman behind this brand , and he sent them to me to test them. After that I will send them to another member of this forum to do the same and write his impressions.

Also keep in mind , regarding my impressions that :

-I'm mainly a synthetic brush user.

-I prefer facelather over bowl lathering and 3 band badger brushes over 2 band.

We do have a new kids on the block : Tipsoft shaving brushes. Its always a good news when a brand decides to step in and bring quality products.I do know Onur from a long time ago and his passion for shaving brushes (he owns more than a 150 of the tops brands like Plisson , Simpson , Rooney and so on) and he knew what he wanted when he started Tipsoft. As Lee , from WSP , he offers quality badger hair and today I tested the HMW (High Mountain White) badger hair.

It comes on a nice presentation , on a sturdy box , like the top brands.

The brush is quiet tall due to its long handle , around 60 mm tall handle.

It shape resembles the famous Simpson M7 , so you can already guess that its very comfortable to hold. And if you are a bowl latherer , then you can assure that this is a great handle for that task.I myself would prefer it a little bit shorter , like the Duke 3 size.Oh well. The handle is also quiet sturdy and heavy , made of resin. This is a heavy brush overall.

Its loft is around 53 mm tall.Again , I will prefer it shorter , around 50 mm , but due to its good backbone , its not a big deal. Also this brush is very densely packed with hair. But quiet densely. Thats something that many wet shavers appreciates.

Its doesnt blooms to much either.I washed it and lather tested 5 times prior to my shave , and this is how it looks like when in bloom :

And here some pics to compare it with the iconic Simpson Duke 3.Check that the hair density is quiet the same in both brushes , and we know how Simpson packed their brushes with hair , specially the iconic ones , like the Dukes or Chubbys :

And how is this HMW hair ? Well , this is where it gets "tricky". This HMW hair is once again very different than other HMW hair that I have used from different brands : nothing in common with the current Plisson 3 band HMW , or the WSP , or the New Forest or the old Plisson HMW.
To be honest , this hair is more similar to the shavemac's D01 3 band silvertip from the 2010 batch (I had 3 of those brushes).Soft tips (not extra soft , but soft) and plenty of backbone due to hair density and its natural resilient bristles.Yes , I dont feel like I can compare this type of HMW with the Plisson or the WSP offerings of "the same" hair. Its a top 3 band hair badger hair , which I would have to use it more to see how it develops , but so far , its a mimic of the shavemac's D01 3 band I fell in love back in 2010.

Ill used it more before writing my final impressions of it , but hope that a shorter handle option could be offered in the near future.

Thanks for this review Teiste. I saw it showing up on the social media venue but had no clue that Onur is behind this brand. Now to see if he can source the same synthetic knot as the Plisson. Biggrin

Good to see the old Teiste is back!

T, do you know where these are made and if the process is done completely in house or if they are just assembled from pre-manufactured pieces?

Thanks for sharing, very intriguing review. I can't wait to see how it develops and progresses.

From what I can see the Tipsoft url isn't ready yet and its all FB right now. But I like the pictures already.

There is a price list in the photo section on the Facebook page.

https://www.facebook.com/tipsoftluxurybr...=1&theater

The prices aren't cheap, but it's admittedly difficult to assess value without more or detailed reviews, or at least pictures of all the knots and handles. In any event, I'm glad to see more vendors and competition in our little hobby.

Hi Teiste, nice to see another of your reviews, always a pleasure.
I hope to see Tipsoft launch a few handle designs of their own origin, the build quality though looks first class from the pictures!

I've seen a few of these around, but never knew where to purchase.
Decided to pick up a Manchurian and their blonde. Can't wait!

Thank you for the review, Mr T. I've piggybacked on Cam's order and grabbed a (2-band) Blonde.
