It's just some times a poster doesn't know who the original OP is, especially on a longer post.

Just visit page 1 of the thread and look at post #1...

Most threads develop as members add to them, so IMO there really isn't such a thing as ownership of a thread. In fact, threads are often combined when subject matter is the same to reduce navigating duplicate content.

When specific questions are asked within a thread, click "reply" to the post with the question and the member who made the post will appear at the top of the quotation.
