Anybody happen to know where a Simpson Eagle in Best is still available? I know it's a long shot. I have a difficult time understanding why they don't make this brush in something other than Pure.

I think you can only find it via custom order or through the BST.

They made an Eagle 3 in best a few years ago for charity, driven by Badger and Blade and sold on West Coast Shaving so you might see one of those pop up from time to time. One of my biggest regrets was not getting in on that.

Personally I love the Eagle handle over just about any other Simpson's handles. I would love it if they made another version in best or synthetic!

If they sold the Eagle in Best, it would be a strong seller, IMO. I have the G3 in Best, and it's easily one of my best brushes, comparable in size and density to a chubby 1. I have an Eagle in Pure as well, and, well, you need to appreciate a scratchy brush.

I have to be in a certain mood to use the Pures. I do like what they can do, especially lathering soaps, but I will only use painting motions when applying the lather.

Good luck! I have the Eagle in both pure and best and I love both for different reasons. The handles are great and the best is sooo soft. I picked mine up on a BST. They don't come up very often but are worth the search.

They are so popular, they never are sold second hand!

Do you mind elaborating on why you like your pure brush, if you don't mind? I've been mildly interested in picking up the Eagle in pure.

I had a Special early on in pure that was terribly scratchy. I swore I'd never have another. Is it the same hair?

The Eagle Somerset seem to have a softer, better grade of badger

Hi Josh,

Mine is a little scritchy but very little and gently exfoliates my skin. Its especially nice when I have skipped shaving all weekend. I hate to admit it but my Plisson European Grey is much more scritchy. I have no experience with the newer Simpsons pure though so keep that in mind.

It was off B and B's BST, and I was the second owner. It was very early 2012 and I think the brush was a few years old at that time/
