Hmmm. No.

I have tried several farmers market booth soaps. All were mediocre or poor. With the likes of B&M, CRSW, Mike's, there seems little incentive to try no-name brands.

That said, its good that someone takes one for the team and tests "what's out there."

Have you tried the Chicago SS? Any report that you'd care to share?

I have never tried it. It seems the soap was in production in the 70's and used by barbers maybe.

I have only heard of the Chicago Shave Co. I have a vintage boar brush that I bought from an antique shop by them. I'm guessing it's an old company that use to make shaving gear.

I had a puck of it a couple years ago that I bought on a whim, used a few times, and then sold or gave away. It was just OK, not outstanding in any way.

Man that is tempting. Although I usually do not like unscented soaps, there is something charming about the ingredient list. He doesn't even bother to hide the Lye by using some other name for it like Sodium Hydroxide. I'll have to stop by the shop and pick up a tin.

Doug,

I would be willing to pay for a puck for you if you would pick me up one too and ship to me. How's that sound? I'm on a soap acquisition binge lately. Cool
