just wanted to share my latest find from the 'bay...

i was super stoked to find both top and bottom jimps, and this is the first i'd ever seen of the "locking" scales. the blade and scales are in pretty decent condition, although there is a little bit of rust around the hinge and it's as dull as a butter knife. i'll have to get the scales off to get the blade taken care of, but i'm hoping to keep them intact and repinned when all is said and done.

one other interesting bit i found on the case was this stamp... can't really call it a monogram. my initial search didn't yield any results as to what it, so if anybody has any clues, please share. =)

It looks very much like a sigil, such as practitioners of Chaos Magic or others who follow the work of the artist Austin Osman Spare use for "spells". (Yes, really). Except those people generally wouldn't use vowels, which are very clear in that symbol.

So I vote that indeed it is a monogram. A lot of letters in there... more full name than just initials.

\end morning speculation

Excellent condition that will look like new including the scales once restored.

based on the size of the S, i want to make that the lead letter... then there's an A, E, R and Y for sure, possibly a T, and with the hard edge along the left, maybe a D?
*curses his own lack of word jumble skills!*

and my thoughts exactly, jamie! was very shocked to see the condition when it arrived... the ebay pictures did not do it justice. (and for less than $30 shipped, it's a definite gem!)

That was going to be my next guess. That or "Detox Years".

I was so hoping it would be something magic. But the more important thing is the razor itself, which looks great. I've also never seen the locking feature of the scales, not even in another picture. Very cool. Let is know how the pins clean up for you.

Those "clip" razors with what some folks call "Warts" are not very common. I looked and waited a long time for one up here in the hinterlands.
Good catch!
