I'm looking for a friend and he is a huge fan of Tom Ford Grey Vetiver. Anyone know any soaps or creams based on or relative to that scent?

Let me know!

Matt

I know the Fine Fresh Vetiver is based off this fantastic fragrance, but I haven't heard of a soap.

You may ask Tiki. I had Amanda make me a Creed Original Vetiver soap and it's top notch. I'm planning on having her make me a Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille scented soap.

I am also TG GV fan. I heard from many including Will that B&M Veviter santal is very close to GV. I ordered and awaiting shipment. I will let you know in few days how close this is to TF.

I just used B&M Vetyver and Santal this morning, and it's close indeed.

While I generally don't like straight Vetiver fragrance, I have to admit that I actually like Mike's Natural Soaps - Vetiver. Mike's version is more smooth and doesn't have the harsh scent edge that I've come to associate with Vetiver essential oil.

Since I haven't sampled Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver, I don't know if Mike's soap has the same fragrance effect.

If someone can find a dupe of Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, I would be all over it. I have tried several (fragrance dupes,) and none are close. Regarding Mikes: Mike's Vetiver is made with only Vetiver Essential Oil. It contains no synthetics or no added essential oils. It is a straight and true Vetiver scent, because it is pure EO, nothing more, nothing less. Mike's has a softer scent than most Vetiver EO because he uses a double distilled EO which removes some constituents. This makes it a lighter colored oil which is a bit "sotfer" and "cleaner" than others. Most Vetiver scented shaving soaps that I have seen are synthetic or have synthetic components to it, or they have other essential oils added, Mikes is pure EO. I'm sure Will's soap is worth a try, but I cannot comment if it is close to GV or not. Either way, Im sure it smells top notch especially if it's in the same zip code as GV

Kevin, as you know, not all vetivers smell alike, either, even if they are pure essential oils, as vetivers grown in different places have different scents; some are smoky, some are grassy, some are mossy, some are a mix of these.
Grey Vetiver has a lot of other fragrance notes besides the vetiver. I agree that it is a nice scent.

I had Amanda (Tiki) make me a tub of TFGV soap. I actually supplied her with a dupe fragrance oil I found locally.

It's awesome. One of my top performing soaps in one of my all-time favorite cologne scents.
